EUROCAFE/EUROCLUB:

Eurofans visiting Serbia between 9th and 27th of May will be able to enjoy this year`s Eurocafé, situated in the heart of Belgrade, in the building known as “Beogradjanka”, on the 5th floor of one of the most famous venues in Belgrade – the club “Plato”. Esctoday.com had opportunity to be there and to find out more about OGAE Serbia`s plans for the Eurocafe and this year’s Euroclub.

Members of OGAE Serbia were the first who had the opportunity to see how this year’s Eurocafe  looks like, since they are the ones responsible for the project. “Plato” , the next Eurocafe, is quite spacious and includes two main areas, an indoor as well as an outdoor one , which looks like a big terrace with a fountain in the center and a beautiful view on the one of the hottest touristic places in Belgrade, the Saint Sava temple.

The Eurocafe will not offer just drinks and refeshments but also meals at more than reasonable prices. The venue offers wireless Internet access, as well as other facilities such as a fitness centre.

OGAE Serbia members will be responsible for the daily and evening programme. According to the OGAE organising comittee, there are a lot of new things to be introduced in this year’s Eurocafe, as well in the Euroclub, also a responsibility of the club.

As for the Euroclub, it will be situated in the Sava Centre, in the same building as the Press Centre and not far from The Belgrade Arena. It opens on May 11th, and remains open for guests until 25th May. The programme in the Euroclub begins every night at 21.00 or 22.00 depending on the the schedule of the Delegation parties. OGAE Serbia promises Eurofans a good show and an unforgetable Euroclub and Eurocafe.

Three help-desks, intended to inform all the fans and others more about the happenings in Belgrade during the Eurovision Song Contest and to give answers to various questions, will be set up by OGAE Serbia. The help-desks will be situated in the Eurocafe, Euroclub and near the Press Centre. There will be one more – at Belgrade Airport, but this one will be open occasionally, depending on the times of arrival of fans who have found accomodation through OGAE Serbia.

The first Eurovision 2008 participant to visit the Eurocafe was Greek Kalamoira who was warmly welcomed by members of OGAE Serbia.

Hi everyone.

A couple of days ago another big Eurovision 2008 favourite was added to the list of stars attending/performing at the UK Eurovision Preview Party at the Scala Nightclub in London on 25th April. This star is Sirusho, who is representing Armenia at the first semi final and perhaps the final in Belgrade this May.

She also read out the votes for Armenia last year. Here is a video clip for you:

SOME MORE NEWS:

The digital release will be on 12th May and the physical release will be on 19th May, just days before the Grand Final in Belgrade. The Enhanced Single will contain a remix of Even If, by Manhatten Cliq and also the Music Video of the song. This is followed by his album, which will be released two days after the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest, Moday the 26th May. Andy is hoping this album will be as successful as his previous releases.

Andy is hoping to keep up his record in Reality TV shows, in Eurovision, after ending second in X-Factor and winning Eurovision: Your Decision, the UK selection allowing him to represent his nation in the Biggest Reality TV event, in the world.

The Flemish minister of culture, Bert Anciaux, has conferred a state support of €25,000 to Ishtar, the Belgian representatives in Belgrade. The financial support should serve to pay off all additional costs made in Belgrade, besides the normal costs which will be paid by the Flemish broadcaster VRT.

Ishtar applied for the donation themselves. They presented a list of expected extra costs to be made in preparation for Belgrade and during their stay in Belgrade to Bert Anciaux. The Flemish minister approved to give the Belgian band €25,000, considerably less than the €60,000 he allocated to Kate Ryan for her promo tour in 2006.

The main difference is that Ishtar didn’t plan any promo activities abroad, except for the one in The Netherlands planned on May 4th. Ishtar will perform O Julissi in Dutch tv show ‘Life and Cooking’ and will meet the Dutch and Swedish representatives, Hind and Charlotte Perelli.

Ishtar will release their second album next week, which carries the name of their Eurovision entry ‘O Julissi’. This week, the Belgian band rehearsed their new choreography for Belgrade for the first time, created by choreographer Ricardo Overman.

Well it’s goodbye for me for now. In the next blog I will give you my opinion on the finishing positions of all the songs when the final finishes late on Saturday 24th May, plus loads of other news.
